A few of the association members who are regular riders (also known as “Waller’s”) recently attended the “Ride To The Wall” (RTTW) along with over 6000 bikes and 10,000 riders on the first Saturday of October 2021, to show their respects to the names on the wall of all the fallen service personnel on active duty since the end of WW2.
It was a very wet day, but this did not dampen our spirits, Michael Flynn who was a first time Waller got to get a photo call with Martin Dickenson, the Co Founder of RTTW back in 2008, also in the picture is Cliff Whiteley, Association Membership Secretary and veteran Waller.
It was a very emotional service and despite the heavens opening and it pour down everyone stood fast, as the last post was played followed by a 2-minute silence.
This year was particularly poignant to us as not only was RTTW cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic but also the fact we could now go and pay our respects at the new Servicing Commando and TSW memorial stones that had only been unveiled by the Association some 6 weeks prior.
We usually go to the RAFFA memorial for our photo call, but it was extra special this year as we now had our own place for that photo call.
