My father John William Pigott (but known as Jack) now deceased, was a member of one of the Servicing Commandos. He was in Acklington and i think attached to 19 Squadron. He landed on D +1 and ended up in Lubeck at the end of the war. Is there anywhere i can find which unit he was in and anything else about what happened. He married my mother Laura Pigott (nee Baty) just after the war, she was a Radio Operator and was based at Acklington.

Following on from comments made at the last AGM I would love to hear from any ex-TSF, Wildenrath members, particularly Mike Barcroft, though I hear he lives out in the Caribean (not Belize!!) these days. Wonder if Nigel Tonge, TP and Brum Brum remember me?

Hi to everyone who remembers Teams 3, 6 & 18 etc i.e. the early 70s? Sorry to have missed this year’s reunion so as soon as date is set for next years I will make sure hols etc do not get in the way. Chris “Brum Brum” Mallett, Tony “TP” Powell & I have been trying to coax the rest of our clan to make a better effort next year so give me a call on n.tonge@ntlworld.com if you were of the early era. Look forward to hearing from a few of you soon.

Just saying hellow to all those Servicing Commandos. My father was Ron Jones born Feb 11 1918. He served with 3202SC in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He was red-haired, from Newport, Mon and was married to Bridie. He has told me a few stories. Once he was dropped off to guard a downed Hurricane in the North African desert, give his .303 and a few bullets. After a l-o-n-g while he realised (guessed) that he'd been forgotten, so deserted the Hurricane and walked five miles back to camp, expecting to be charged, possibly with LMF. But the Sarge HAD forgotten he was out there! He might still be there…He told me of the time 3202 were briefly over-run by counter-attacking Germansand he told me of a time when he and a few mates founf a cellar with barrels of wine… they got very badly drunk and were seriously ill, one of the men hospitalised, all ended up on a chargeIf anyone from 3202 reads this I would love to speak with themmy email is rvjones@btclick.com and my phone is 01635-34317Best WishesRon Jones (junior)

with regards to the TSW family day and association reunion, I would just like to thank everyone for making the whole experience absolutely fantastic. After being away from the fold for over 23 years, within a short time of making old aquaintances, it was like I'd never been away (although there had been some serious hair loss for certain members). The crux is I would like to wholeheartedly recommend and encourage all past members to seriously consider making the effort to at the very least attend next years event … spread the word! … and Prids, don't forget to give me a bell when you're in town, beer's in the fridge!

The Association AGM and presumably the TSW Families day at Beacon Barracks (RAF Stafford) are due on Saturday 30th May 2009, I believe. We've had a great time the previous few years and its like walking into a time warp, getting together with old mates and colleagues, having a beer, a laugh and boring the arse off each other with war stories which sound even better when you embellish them….. Life is pretty short, so get yourselves down there to Stafford and let your old friends and colleagues know about it. The more the merrier! See you there.

Guys (and Gals!), firstly, best wishes and thoughts to those serving at home and abroad, keep your heads down and have a safe tour. In addition, thoughts and best wishes those affected by those no longer with us. Each time, I am reminded how lucky I am and to make the best of things as they are.Okay, as for me, still in the county town and busy with the ongoing challanges of being a Copper in a mid-size town. Also writing a few `memories` down for Jim Coleman who is putting together a book (?). nothing embarrassing there then eh?………..Giving up work in March `09 to go travelling in an old `van with er indoors. cannot wait. best wishes. Buz.P.S. The site is excellent, well done.
